What the @#$%&! is RoadLoK?
The answer is
simple!
RoadLoK MID (rOhd' lok - em' ahy dee2) noun.
1. a
motorcycle
immobilization device; a security system used to lock a
motorcycle. 2. different from all other motorcycle locks
because it is permanently mounted to the motorcycle. 3.
permanently-mounted configuration makes damaging the motorcycle
impossible. 4. permanently-mounted configuration means there is
no need to carry the lock during motorcycle operation; it is
already mounted to the bike's frame.
Common uses: "Wow, Fred! That's one nice RoadLoK MID you have
there!" or "Thanks to the RoadLoK MID my bike is right
where I parked it when I went into that shady liquor store!".
Other uses of RoadLoK MID: "My RoadLoK MID is always with
me so I never have to remember to bring my old 'disc lock' with
me anymore. I simply carry the locking pin on my keys. The
RoadLoK MID has my back like a good friend! I wish I could marry
my RoadLoK MID!"
Origin: American; Orange County, New York.
Brink (NY Affiliate) explains how the RoadLoK MID works:
Here's how it works:
The rear brake caliper bracket is removed and the RoadLoK MID is
mounted in its place.
Your factory caliper is then bolted onto the RoadLoK MID.
It's that simple.
And you never take it off your bike. Ever!
The
stock caliper perch (the bracket that holds the brake caliper on
the swing arm) is completely replaced by the RoadLoK MID. The
stock brake caliper, brake rotor, and bolts are retained.
Once you install the RoadLoK MID it stays on the bike. The only
thing that comes out of the lock is the BrakeBolt locking pin.
When you park your bike you simply insert the BrakeBolt™ locking
pin into the receiver hole below the ABLOY® lock cylinder on the
RoadLoK MID. The rotor and wheel are then locked solid to the
swing arm. The bike will not move at all.
The RoadLoK MID is the first and only MODEL-SPECIFIC
motorcycle lock in the world!
